*This is a story about our good friend Sharon and Sherman - - it’s a riot!*
Once upon a time, there was a man named “Chuck”, who lived in a small town in Central Illinois. He was always getting mistaken for another man named “Sherman” (who lived in the same small town for many years). At the Bradley University basketball games, people would walk by Chuck and say "Hey Sherman", but Chuck had no idea who Sherman was.
Last year - Sherman's Mom needed her ditch cleaned out in front of her house and she called the township to get it cleaned. Chuck - who works for the township, showed up to clean out the ditch. Sherman's mom thought it was Sherman (her own son) and went outside to talk to him - only to find it was Chuck. She just stared at him and finally Chuck said, “Don't tell me - you know Sherman” - and she said "I'm Sherman's Mom". Chuck about died. Also, Cara (Sherman’s daughter) has been hanging out with her friends on the river and Chuck has a boat. All of Cara's friends were talking to Chuck like it was Sherman. One of her friends said hey I was just talking to your Dad - and Cara said that's not my Dad! But the day Chuck wore a do rag to the river, even Cara thought it was her dad.
So Sherman and his wife Sharon have been hearing about Chuck for a long time - but had no idea who he was.
This year when Sharon and Sherman went to the Blues Festival, Chuck was walking through the crowd and Sharon spotted Chuck and said to Sherman, "Oh My God - that has got to be Chuck". So of course, Sherman stood up and yelled "Hey Chuck". He turns around and starts laughing.
Sherman and Sharon can't believe how much they look alike. Sharon says that in person and in full view they even look more alike-
Sherman and Chuck are now best buds. Below is the picture Sharon took last Friday when Chuck and his wife walked in the door of a bar they were all at. Sharon says she’s going to get Chuck a t-shire that says,
They call Chuck the Sherminator at work. Chuck said Sherman must be a good guy because no one has ever come up and punched him.
And . . they all now live happily ever after!
