A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

Okay, instead of all my pictures, I am going to write from my heart. . . yes, - there is no "just looking" now. I'm actually writing something.

Steve and I have spent the last few days looking over old pictures of our friends and family and know how blessed our lives have been because we have both that mean so very much to us. THIS (to us) is the meaning of Christmas. We do (first and foremost) celebrate the "true meaning" that Jesus was born on this special day. We have felt the economic crunch, like most and think that maybe this will make everyone realize that it is not the material gifts that we are celebrating, but a religious event. . . maybe we all needed this "slap in the face" to make us realize it is not the gifts, lights, music, etc. that makes this day special and now Christmas has SUCH MORE MEANING.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and although many of you are miles away, we want you to know that HONESTLY, you are in our thoughts constantly. I hope one of our GOOD friends doesn't care, but I'd like to post his poem to our blog, because it was very touching and meant alot to me when I read it. (Love that last two lines!)

This poem is by Gary ( *& Kay - friends of ours from PIA). Enjoy it - - think back - - and remember those days. He put it elegantly into words (not unlike Mom "Pat", who wrote wonderful poems.)

Have a Merry Christmas
- - Here's Gary's poem, which I love:

Christmas as a Child

Remember when you were little, and thoughts of toys raced
through your head;
Anticipation held you captive, until you were forced to go to
bed.

Mysterious and magical, Santa played within your mind;
Sleep delayed the Sandman, for the presents you might find.

Surely it was sleigh bells you heard above your roof;
The noise up there can only be, that of reindeer hoof.

Although you’ve been a little naughty, mostly you’ve been nice;
And the cookies, milk and scribbled note, for Santa should
suffice.

Covers flung back and on your feet, before the sun could fully
rise;
Mom and Dad were hard to wake, with slits instead of eyes.

A milk glass empty, cookie crumbs, and out of place a chair;
There could be no mistake … Santa was surely there !

Hold your breath, slow your pace, Santa knew what you would
like;
Fingers crossed, galloping heart … a shiny new green bike !

With joyous screams you proclaim, the best Christmas you have
had;
Then rush to hug your parents, a smiling Mom and grinning
Dad.

Christmas is for ‘Dreamers’, and here’s what I must say;
Never let that flame die out, dream-on … dream away !

GREG DICKERSON FAMILY VISIT AND THANKSGIVING

Well, we had a wonderful time with the Dickerson Family. Inspite of having to run out on Thanksgiving, we managed to get through dinner. A big thanks to Greg for doing all the dishes, Carolyn for clearing food and putting it away, and Brooke for stepping with with the cooking while Teri stressed out (just wanted to get to the hospital).
They were able to visit Disneyland, Lake Arrowhead, Sea World, Hollywood, Bev. Hills, etc. Although we had a couple of days of rain, for the most part, they had great weather. On Sunday we heated the pool and had a large group over. The kids had a ball in the pool. Ozzie will certainly miss playing with the kids. They took off to head back to Peoria this morning. But, GREAT TIMING - they were able to see the two new additions.
We'll miss having them around and hope they had a good time while they were here. Here's some pics from their visit.
