What happen's in Vegas . . . . ends up on the Blog!

Hi All. Well, last weekend was Steve's big bowling tournament in Vegas. We had a whole group there. Frank & Kathy Butch, Alena & Mike Raby (they bowl on a team together), Brooke & Matt, Brian and Michelle (Brian and Matt bowl together), Mark Roberts, and of course Steve and I were all in Vegas at the same time. But the really amazing thing is . . .that because of this blog, we received a phone call from Kathy Burnett (our dear friend, who, ironically we used to bowl with from Peoria). She said she had been reading this blog and saw that we were going to be in Vegas for a wedding with her sister. Well, we knew we HAD to meet up. So Saturday night, Sharon (Kathy's sister), Josh, Matt (Josh's friend) and Kathy showed up and we met up at the piano bar. We later moved to Toby Keith's bar where we had a great time. (See pictures below). We never did meet up with Brooke and Matt who were staying at the Rio. Most of us were staying at Harrah's. Anyway, it was great catching up on old times with Kathy and the weekend proved to be very fun. Steve (as usual) was a winning fool and my personal bank machine for the weekend. Although, the Roulette table proved to be profitable for me, since my lucky "3" which I always played hit two times, as well as Matt's birthday and Steve's birthday. So, all in all who could ask for more? Peoria friends, California friends, family - - Wow, life is good! That's it for now. Until next time. . . . .

Brooke's Bridal Shower

Hello, all - - Well, the shower was a success, except for that BAD HOT HOT HOT weather we have been having. Normally our backporch (with ceiling fans going) is cool enough, but NO WAY. We moved the shower inside and my air was having trouble keeping up. Inspite of the weather that we could not control, the shower went very well. We had about 25-30 people in attendance. We did a Hawaiian Theme and Crystal & Michelle did an excellent job of decorating. The food was all Hawaiian also. Crystal even bought a Hawaiian CD which was playing in the background - - only trouble was that it was so hot we KNEW we weren't in Hawaii! The shower would have been perfect otherwise. . .and under normal conditions - - I probably would have thought I was in Hawaii. Anyway - check out the pictures below. We had a great time.
Sorry Matt - somehow I posted this TWO TIMES - - but guess you were a little bored with us all going through the shower gifts. . . but, a Mom's advise would be never to fall asleep!!!

Michelle trying too

Ozzie would have loved to be with Matt in that bedroom sleeping, but couldn't stand all the action!

Another angle - - we're cruel, aren't we?

Geez - think I did this one twice too, and haven't figured out how to delete????

The "Girls" - -from Jr. High to how - - bestest of friends to the end
While the girls did the shower thing - - Steve, and Tom and Matt (with a bunch of other guys) golfed. Weather was extremely hot - - we had to move the shower inside! - - Can't imagine golfing. Anyway - here's the heat-stroke result of two of the golfers. I'm happy to say they lived and were better in about an hour.

New post - - wedding shower this Saturday! :)

GUYS ARE GOLFING! - - MORE BELOW PIC!

Brooke's wedding shower

Hi all - -

I know it's been awhile since I've posted, but WOW we've been busy. Work has been unbelievable, with no time to breathe. . . but on to happier things -

We will have Brooke's wedding shower at our house this Saturday. Should be fun. We think about 25-30 people expected. Only problem is it's supposed to be around 95 degrees outside - - UGHHH - - Good thing that we're doing a Hawaiian theme. Everyone dresses cool (I hope!) Tune in to Dickersonmontgomery.com (see side link and click) for pictures to follow. I hope to take lots of them. The Bridesmaids are putting on the shower, but somehow I think (since it's at our house) I will be doing alot of work (as I already have in preparation of the big event.) But, heck - - your kids only get married once (or so we all hope & pray). With the Hawaiian theme will come my "special" champagne pineapple punch - - and a regular "punch" for those who are pregnant who just want something mild. I volunteered for drinks, so hopefully they will please.

Our family doing well. Michelle's been working long hours, Matt working long hours, Brooke working long hours, and of course Steve and I see home around 7:00 - 8:00 at night. . . so guess it's the California Way. (got to do something to afford these houses!) Brian (normally) works long hours, but hurt his back, but I believe he will be going back to work next week.

Michelle loves her job, even though, sometimes she's driving home at 8:00 at night. Matt seems to love his (even though he commutes about an hour each way to work - - up a Mtn. ) Teri & Steve? Well, we've been there a long time, what else can I say???

My Dad is doing well, excepting for the prostate cancer he was diagnosed with. He starts treatments next week. But his spirits are high and he's as arnory as ever, so we know he's fine! (otherwise we'd worry!) He attended an airshow in Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago with my brother Eric and his son Ethan - - the pictures are so cute. (Also website on sidebar if interested- - go to Nelsoncronicles on our side bar.

Well, that's about it. I'm still in cleaning mode tonight and probably will be until Saturday. A special thank you to ANYONE reading this, (if anyone does).

Love, Teri ****arrrrrrrrrrrrrrr until next time

Venice - for those who love "Family Tree"

For those of you who loved the song "Family Tree" (which was played at 4 funerals that I attended, because it had the "perfect lyrics") Venice has put out their new Garage Demo's cd. I'm listening tonight and it's pretty darn good. Anyway, I think you all know how much I love them. . . and I'm hoping you love them too. If interested in this group or their music, please click on link on our BLOG. They truly are a great band. You can buy this cd from their website. I have the Garage Demos 1 & 2 and have NEVER been disappointed. Playing this one tonight and it proves to be another "keeper". Anyway. . . wanted to let you know that Venice will now be added to our website, because they are a great band with feeling. Please check out their website. This is the band that Tim Moyer traveled to Amsterdam with.
That's my newest scoop. Take care - - Teri

Captain Jack Sparrow Visits the Dickerson House!!!

Teri & Steve babysat on Saturday night, and you'll never believe who showed up at our front door. Captain Jack Sparrow. He didn't stay very long, for he had some rum to drink, but we managed to get a few pictures during his short visit with the kids, Michelle & Teri & Steve.
