FIRST OFF, LET ME TELL YOU THAT ALL IN THIS POSTING IS TRUE! - - BUT HARD TO SWALLOW, I KNOW:
Hi All! Well, I have to tell you about the wonderful Valentine's Day/Birthday "get away" for Steve and I. Steve made reservations at Rincon Harrah's ( down near San Diego) for Thursday and Friday evening. We left with our usual $300.00 a piece (that's always been our LIMIT to lose if we gamble). Thursday evening, while playing on a dollar machine, I hit a 5X-5X-double bar, which paid $1,000.00. What a GREAT way to start out our 2 day stay at a Casino.
The next morning, knowing we had some $$$$ to try our luck with, Steve went to the 3 card poker table. Within minutes he hit a straight flush which paid $950.00. Now we started our "bank", which is the $$$ that we hold back and NOT SPEND. . . .just put it in the safe to go home with. We walked around a bit and Steve decided to try his luck at Let it Ride, which he usually does well at. He hit a full house which paid $220.00. Shortly after, he goes to the 3 card poker table again and hits ANOTHER straight flush. This time he was paid $900.00. While he's winning this money, Teri goes to a quarter slot machine (777 machines) and hits the progressive of $375.00. Knowing this luck would not continue, we decided to stop gambling and count our lucky stars. We decided to go to the bar, have a drink and make dinner reservations at a top notch restaurant in the Casino . . we figured if nothing else we would dine in style! While sitting at the bar - - of course, Steve put his $20.00 in a poker machine. He gets 4 cards on the draw for a Royal Flush and looks at me and says "All I need is a Jack of Hearts to hit a Royal Flush" (fitting it was "hearts" for Valentine's Day) - - Of course this NEVER happens, so I ignored his comment. He pushes his draw button and I hear him shout, "I got it"! Even the bartendar was amazed by this. This paid 4000 quarters, or $1000.00.
We then went into this great restaurant and both ordered steak and lobster with a bottle of wine for the table. The food was perfection and service flawless. It was a wonderful birthday dinner.
Of course, we did not come home with all of this money and probably would not have won all this money, had we not kept gambling because we knew we had the money to blow. But, I do believe this is the first time both Steve and I were lucky on the same weekend. (Usually, it's just Steve). All in all, we had a 2 night get-away, ate a delicious dinner, all our other meals were paid for by comps, and came home with money to spare when we got home. THAT'S WHAT I CALL A GREAT BIRTHDAY!
Had to share this with all, because it was just so hard to believe as it was happening. Hope everyone had a wonderful romantic Valentine's Day.
Til next time . . . .
