HAWAII - TOMORROW!

Hi All - - I'm sure we'll be missing you while we lay on the beautiful beach and sip on "Tropical Itches", therefore, I really felt I should do one more blog before we leave. Steve and I have been packing tonight. I, for one, will tell you that I am very excited. I describe Hawaii as Disneyland for adults. (don't mean that to sound dirty - - just pleasant!) Ahhhhh I can hear the rustle in the palms now! I can feel the PERFECT weather. . . ahhhhhhhhhhh. Okay, we're not there yet - but tomorrow we will be. I'm soooooooooooooo excited. So, I'm sure you will miss reading new blogs for the week as I am getting a bronze color of gold, but I promise (As Arnold says. . . "I'll be back!" Love to all of you that spend time (otherwise better spent!) reading my blog. See ya in a week. yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahooooooooooooooooooooo!

Such a couple (nothing has changed here!-haha!)
But that bride is sure skinny! ahhhh the good old days

"Wow - -I just got MARRIED!"

Teri thinking - "Thank God for champagne - - What the heck did I get myself into?"

SMOOSHING CAKE! (sniff-he doesn't feed me anymore! sniff-sniff)

Hawaii here we come - - Wow - 30 years married!

Well, it was May 7th, 1977 when Steve and I were reciting our vows. Eric (my baby brother) was our little ring bearer, Stephanie and Karen our little flower girls. (Geri made the little dresses and they were darling - - much cuter than my "mellow yellow" bridesmaid dresses - -tee hee - hey - it was the 70's!) Monica (I believe it was you) dropped her bottle as Geri was trying to help the nervous bride (me) with last minute details. It ended up splattering up my dress - - 5 seconds before I walked down the aisle. As I walked down towards my husband to be . . . I remember thinking he looked a bit pale. Well, by the time I got up to the alter - - I saw his legs shaking. Geez - - could it really be that bad??
Well, 30 years later . . we are off on our "2nd honeymoon" to Hawaii. (I must say . . .this is much better than the "CLOCK TOWER INN LOCATED IN ROCKFORD ILLINOIS" - - so some things do get better with age! (next paragraph a little mushy - this is your warning!)
I will say that I could not have married a more caring, loving, sharing individual. Although our engagement was short - - I think I saw these characteristics in Steve from the first day I met him. He is my best friend . . he is my "ventee" (sorry - sometimes I have to vent), he is my support, my comedian, my organizer, my lover, my life. Most importantly, he is my husband - whom I love so very much. Guess, although the wedding day was a little rocky and stupid things happened that day- - we both took our vows seriously. It's been so very easy - - especially when you know you married the perfect guy! (hummm - I sure hope he feels this way!)
To all those married couples out there - - I hope you have the "love of your life" too. It makes life so much easier!
Anyway - we're headed off to Hawaii on Saturday for a romantic - Steve and Teri only - get away. Should be great fun and VERY ROMANTIC.
Aloha! - - I'll be in touch when we get home.
